Mrs. Smith received a Master's in Educational Leadership Degree in May of 2020 from Grand Canyon University.

She has a Master's Degree and a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from Eastern Illinois University.

Mrs. Smith has an Associate's degree from Lincoln Trail College.

Mrs. Smith is a 1987 graduate of Palestine High School.

Mrs. Smith holds a teaching license in K-9 with an endorsement in the areas of Math, Language Arts, and Reading, and a Principal's license for Pre-K through 12.

She is a member of the Illinois Principal's Association.
